Preparing For Your Travels

As you get closer to the time of your trip you are filled with anticipation, excitement, and most likely that feeling that you are forgetting something important. With so much preparation going into your trip it's easy to feel that something has been missed. Often is the case when it comes down to the last few days before you leave and your trying to make sure you have packed everything, you have all the important documents needed, your house is in order. It can be downright overwhelming!

Not to worry! With a few simple tips to stay organized it can keep down the anxiety and let you ease your way into your trip with no hindrance on your excitement of the adventures that await you.

1. KEEP IT SIMPLE & MAKE LISTS

Easier said than done I know, but really don't make it more complicated than it need be. Make a list for everything that needs to be done. What needs to be done in order to leave your house? Are you going on a lengthy trip that requires you to empty out the fridge? Check off your list as things are done. Not only is it a visual aid to keep your thoughts organized but to show you what has been done and what still needs to be done.

2. PACK LIGHT

Honestly less is more! Whether your taking a quick weekend getaway or a lengthy trek around the world this simple piece of advice applies. A week before you leave lay out everything you intend to take and start trying to eliminate things that you really can do without. How many pairs of shoes do you really need? If your going to be somewhere for a while pack light with the intentions of doing a little bit of laundry. Coordinate outfits to all go together. And again make a list of everything you need to pack so that your thoughts are organized and you can check it off as you go.

3. TIE UP TRAVEL PLANS

Are you traveling locally? Internationally? Depending on where your traveling to you need to have certain things in order to do so. For local travel you need to make sure you have your ID's and proper documents for travel whether flying or driving. For both international and local travel its always a good idea to notify your bank that you are traveling and to where so you won't have the unfortunate mishap of having your bank cards shut off during your travels. For international travel its always good to think ahead of what your going to do for your phone usage. Coming home to an outrageous phone bill is not the way to end a fantastic adventure. There is WiFi all over the world now which makes planning your phone usage much easier. However, you may want to look into what plans your phone company offer as well as buying a pay as you go phone and putting a sims card in once you arrive at your destination.

Lastly, you need to just take a deep breath and enjoy the adventure that you have planned so much for!!!
