Maroon Bells

Maroon Bells, this enormous mountain juts up towards the sky with demands to be respected. This isn't your average Colorado 14er to conquer. Maroon Bells are two peaks, Maroon Peak and North Maroon Peak located in the Elk Mountains. Both of the peaks are 14er's with Maroon Peak standing at 14,163 feet and North Maroon Peak at 14,019. To date people have lost their lives trying to check this off their Colorado's 14er bucket list.

With the gentle pristine lake reflecting the giant, Maroon Bells is as beautiful as she is dangerous. For photographers this place is a treasure trove of the perfect shot. If your wanting a perfect day outdoors with the most incredible scenic trail this is definitely a place to check out. Nothing can compare to the rushing rivers snaking their way down the mountain, the endless vibrant array of wildflowers that stretch out in every direction.

The colors that surround you are bright and come in every shade you can imagine. The birds are singing in the trees, the bee's are working tirelessly amongst the endless sea of wildflowers. This has to be one of the best places to pull out your camera and let your creativity flow. The intimidating mountain towering above you is a thrilling thing to shoot! You don't have to climb it to enjoy it. The scenic trail takes you up into the trees along the river, through flowers, aspen trees, and fresh wild raspberries.
No matter what your desire or goal is, when it comes to Maroon Bells you won't be disappointed. If you must climb this daunting beast make sure you do your homework. Be prepared the best you possibly can and take great care in keeping your safety number one!
